September in Western Australia means the arrival of Spring, the excitement of AFL Finals, and a special annual event that touches the hearts of many – Purple Bra Day, organised by Breast Cancer Care WA. This event, which has become a beloved tradition, serves as Breast Cancer Care WA’s largest annual fundraiser. It plays a vital role in generating funds to support their mission: providing specialist breast care nursing, counselling, and essential financial and practical assistance to Western Australians facing the challenges of breast cancer, all free of charge.
Breast Cancer Care WA stands as a beacon of hope for those battling breast cancer and their families. The impact of this disease touches us all, as many of us have known someone who has faced its challenges. Throughout our lives, we’ve witnessed the courage and strength of the women we hold dear. Unfortunately, some have been taken from us far too soon. These personal experiences remind us of the significance of Breast Cancer Care WA’s mission.
In these trying times, marked by rising living costs and interest rate hikes, charitable organisations are feeling the squeeze alongside households and businesses. It’s undeniable that many people have less disposable income to donate. However, we urge you, if you can spare a contribution this month, to join us in rallying behind Breast Cancer Care WA’s Purple Bra Day.
At Muzz Buzz, we’ve proudly supported Purple Bra Day for several years. This year, we’re continuing our commitment by placing donation tins at every Muzz Buzz outlet throughout September. Our corporate team is also contributing funds to bolster the cause. Additionally, we’re excited to announce our “Surf for a Cause” raffle, where you can buy tickets for a chance to win a Muzz Buzz surfboard valued at $950. You can join the raffle by clicking here.
There are numerous ways you can contribute to this important cause. You can make a donation when you visit any of our Muzz Buzz outlets this month, or you can host a morning tea or fundraising event at your business. Volunteers will be present at select stores on September 20 as part of the Purple Bra Day Street Appeal. Throughout September, you can also participate in our raffle, “Surf for a Cause,” to raise additional funds. And don’t forget the most iconic gesture of support – wear a purple bra outside your clothes to show your commitment to the cause!
This year’s fundraising target is set at $350,000, and not only hope to see Breast Cancer Care WA reach this goal but surpass it. Let’s ensure that they can continue to offer their life-changing support to all those who need it.
Join us in painting September purple and making a real difference in the fight against breast cancer. Together, we can support Breast Cancer Care WA and the incredible work they do for our community.
